Overview
At Vinfarm, we grow a variety of high-value vegetables, fruits and herbs suitable for small and medium-sized farms. Our horticulture section demonstrates practical, sustainable and profitable crop production methods that can be easily adopted by farmers.
Vegetables are bought almost every day, so growing them saves money every week, and surplus sukuma wiki, spinach or tomatoes sell easily to neighbours, kiosks and schools. Manure and compost from our livestock feed the beds.

Kale & Spinach
- Pick 2–4 lower leaves per plant each week; leave the growing tip
- Top dress with compost or liquid manure every 3–4 weeks
- Replace old kale with seedlings raised 6 weeks earlier
Tomatoes & Capsicum
- Stake at planting; remove tomato side shoots weekly
- Water at the base, evenly; mulch well
- Never follow tomatoes, potatoes, capsicum or eggplant in the same bed
Small Spaces
- Raised beds 1 m wide, 20–30 cm high with compost
- One sack garden holds about 50 kale or spinach seedlings
- Keep mint in a container so it does not spread

What is the easiest crop to start with?
Kale (sukuma wiki): one planting gives leaves for 6–12 months. Spinach is also easy and tolerates more heat.
I have very little space. What can I do?
Use raised beds, sack gardens or containers. One sack holds about 50 kale or spinach seedlings.
Can I learn at Vinfarm?
