Vinfarm founder

Why we built this

I started Vinfarm because I love farming — and I was tired of running a serious operation with notebooks scattered across the office, the goat shed, and three different phones.

Every farmer I know has the same problem. The records that matter most — feed costs, sales, mortality, breeding dates, profit per batch — live in places they can never reach when they need them. So I built the app I wished existed: simple, mobile-first, offline-capable, and built around the way Kenyan farms actually work.

Today Vinfarm is twelve species, two crops, training programs, and an app that runs all of it. We sell what we farm, we teach what we know, and we share the tools that make it possible.

— The Vinfarm Team

What farmers are saying

12 farmers already trust Vinfarm Solutions to keep their records. Here's what they say after using it on their own farms.

★★★★★

"Before Vinfarm Solutions I was using exercise books. Half my goats had no records at all. In two weeks I tagged every animal, logged every birth, and finally know my actual feed cost per goat. Worth it."

JM
Joseph M.
Dairy goats · Uasin Gishu
★★★★★

"The pregnancy due-date alerts saved me. I missed two calvings last year because I lost track. Now my phone tells me a week before the dam is due. Family-tree view is also beautiful for breeding decisions."

RN
Ruth N.
Dorper sheep · Trans Nzoia
★★★★★

"I run broilers and the feed costing was always rough estimates. Vinfarm Solutions gave me real numbers per bag, per batch, per bird. My profit margin doubled when I started ordering feed the right week. Simple app, big difference."

SK
Samuel K.
Broiler chicken · Eldoret
★★★★☆

"The founder built this for actual Kenyan farms, not for software people. Records work offline, syncs when I get signal. The finance section shows my real profit, not just sales. I'd pay double."

PO
Peter O.
Mixed livestock · Nandi
★★★★★

"The hatchery feature is exactly what I was looking for. I track 4 incubation batches at the same time and the app tells me which day each is on, expected hatch date, and chick price. No more notebook chaos."

MN
Mary N.
Poultry & hatchery · Kakamega
★★★★★

"Set up in 5 minutes. The wizard asked me my species and farm name and I was logging records. Paid with M-Pesa — no hassle. The free trial was more than enough to convince me."

DC
Daniel C.
Pigs & fish · Bungoma

Common questions

If your question isn't here, message us on WhatsApp +254 720 336 363 or email info@vinfarm.co.ke.

Where is your farm located? +

We're located in Eldoret, Kenya. Get in touch on WhatsApp for the exact location and to arrange a visit. We welcome serious farmers and curious learners alike.

Can I visit the farm? +

Absolutely. We run scheduled half-day and full-day tours. Send us a WhatsApp message with your preferred date and group size and we'll confirm availability.

Do you ship animals to other counties? +

We do, with proper documentation, transport arrangements, and biosecurity. Costs depend on distance and species. Message us for a quote.

Does the Vinfarm app work on iPhone & iPad? +

Yes — the Vinfarm app runs on iPhone, iPad, Android phones & tablets, and any computer with a modern browser. Everything works the same: animals, feed, sales, finances, offline mode, sync to the cloud. The only difference is the install steps below (Apple makes you do it manually).

How do I install the Vinfarm app on my phone? +
🤖 On Android (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet)
  1. Open app.vinfarm.co.ke in your browser.
  2. A banner appears at the bottom: "Add Vinfarm to your home screen" — tap Install.
  3. If you don't see the banner, tap the browser menu (⋮) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. The Vinfarm icon now sits on your home screen and opens like a normal app.
🍎 On iPhone or iPad (Safari only — not Chrome)
  1. Open app.vinfarm.co.ke in Safari. Chrome on iOS cannot install web apps; you must use Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an up arrow).
  3. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Tap Add in the top-right. Vinfarm now lives on your home screen and opens full-screen, just like a native app.

Installing is optional — the Vinfarm app also works perfectly in any browser without installing. Installing gives you a home-screen icon, faster start-up, and full-screen mode (no browser bar).

How do I pay for the app? +

M-Pesa, card, or bank transfer through our secure payment partner. You choose monthly or yearly billing. The first 30 days are free, no card required.

What if I don't have stable internet? +

The Vinfarm app is offline-first. Record everything on your phone with no signal. The moment you're back online — even via mobile data — your changes sync to the cloud automatically.

Is my farm data private and safe? +

Your data is yours. It's encrypted in transit, isolated per-customer at the database level (other customers physically cannot see your records), and backed up daily. You can export it as a backup file at any time.

Can I cancel my subscription? +

Anytime, in-app. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period and your data drops to read-only mode — never deleted. You can come back anytime.

Does the app work for [my specific species]? +

Yes — we use it ourselves for sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, fish, all poultry, ducks, geese, turkey, mushrooms and azolla. The data model is flexible enough for any species. If you farm something exotic and don't see it, message us — we add new species on request.

Shop & Delivery Questions

How do I pay for a shop order? +

We accept M-Pesa (the most common method), bank transfer, and cash on collection at the farm. After you place an order on WhatsApp, we confirm price, availability, and your preferred payment method before anything moves.

Do you deliver live animals outside Eldoret? +

Yes — we ship live animals to all 47 counties using reputable livestock transporters. We handle all the movement permits and documentation. Delivery cost depends on species, quantity, and distance. Message us for a quote before ordering.

What happens if a hatching egg doesn't hatch? +

We guarantee fertile eggs at point of dispatch — we candle and test before packing. Hatch rate depends on your incubation setup; we cannot guarantee outcomes after the eggs leave us. We'll always share the breed-specific incubation guide with every order and answer questions on WhatsApp.

Can I visit and pick my animals personally? +

Absolutely — we encourage farm visits before buying breeding stock. You get to see the animals in their environment, check health and temperament, and pick your preferred individual. Message us on WhatsApp to book a visit date.

What health documentation do animals come with? +

All animals are sold with a vaccination record showing dates and products used. We provide movement permits for inter-county transport. For breeding stock, we include a basic breeding history. We do not provide vet-certified health certificates unless arranged in advance (additional cost).
